Analysis DATAGRO
NY July 2026 raw sugar fell 21 points yesterday to US$ 13.93 c/lb, reaching its lowest level in one month. The market reinforced expectations of comfortable global Trade Flow following the release of the latest 26/27 Center-South Brazil crop data.
 
Brazil: Petrobras announced on Thursday a R$ 0.48/liter (+18.5%) increase in gasoline prices at its refineries, effective today (May 29th).
 
Brazil: considering the R$ 0.44/liter subsidy approved by the government, the net impact will be only R$ 0.04/liter (+1.3%), with an estimated increase of just R$ 0.03/liter, on average, at the pump in São Paulo.
 
Brazil: even after the adjustment, gasoline prices at Petrobras refineries are expected to remain approximately 27% below import parity, according to DATAGRO estimates.
 
Brazil: sugar shipment nomination increased from 42 to 45 vessels this week, totaling 1.846 mmt (-26.8% YoY), with China leading destinations with 403 k mt (22.8%), followed by Canada (8.1%) and India (6.3%), according to the DATAGRO Line-up.
 
Brazil: waiting time for berthing at CLI 16/17 terminal, Santos port, increased from 8 to 11 days, above the 9 days recorded in the same period of 2024.
 
Brazil: according to the DATAGRO Line-up, ethanol exports totaled 69 million liters in May (-35.4% YoY), but June already indicates recovery, with scheduled shipments 36.1% higher YoY.
 
U.S. ethanol production declined 2.0% last week to 1.089 mbpd (+3.1% YoY), while inventories increased 0.4%, reaching 24.968 million barrels (+2.8% YoY).
 
U.S. gasoline consumption recovered 5.6% in the week preceding the opening of the country’s summer driving season, totaling 9.256 mbpd (-2.1% YoY).
 
European Union: sugar exports reached 200 k mt in March (+18.7% YoY), totaling 953 k mt cumulatively since October 2025 (-5.5% YoY).
 
European Union: sugar imports reached 52 k mt in March (-3.4% YoY), totaling 409 k mt cumulatively since October 2025 (+73.3% YoY).
