NY July 2026 raw sugar fell 16 points in the latest session, settling at US$ 13.92 c/lb. In addition to perceptions of ample sugar availability in the global Trade Flow in the short term, the stronger U.S. dollar against the Brazilian Real continues to weigh on prices.
 
U.S. dollar reached R$ 5.1763/US$ Ptax yesterday, its highest level since March 31st, up 2.9% since the beginning of the month.
 
India: the monsoon reached the southern coast on June 4th, advancing into Karnataka and southern Maharashtra between June 8th and 10th, at a pace close to the climatological average, although still below last year's progress.
 
India: the heaviest recent rainfall was concentrated in the western region, while much of the country received more modest accumulations ranging from 10 mm to 20 mm during the period.
 
India: over the next 10 days, the monsoon is expected to advance along the eastern coast, bringing accumulations of up to 100 mm, while rainfall is forecast to range between 50 mm and 100 mm in Center-South India.
 
Thailand: rainfall accumulations ranged from 20 mm to 40 mm across the main cane-growing areas between June 8th and 10th, with precipitation over cane fields expected to exceed 100 mm over the next 10 days.
 
Brazil: sugar shipment nominations declined from 49 to 43 ships this week, totaling 1.839 mmt (-22.2% YoY), with China leading destinations at 405 k mt (22.0%), followed by Algeria (9.3%) and Canada (6.3%), according to the DATAGRO Line-up.
 
Brazil: waiting time for berthing at CLI 16/17 terminals, Santos port, declined from 12 to 10 days, compared to 13 days in the same period last year.
 
Brazil: sugar exports reached 655 k mt in the first week of June, averaging 164 k mt/day, slightly below the daily average recorded in June 2025 (-2.8% YoY).
 
Brazil DDG/DDGS exports reached 99 k mt in May (+150.2% YoY), totaling 555 k mt (+30.5% YoY) year-to-date, a new record for the period.
 
Brazil: in 2026, China remains the leading destination for Brazilian DDG/DDGS, with 262 k mt (47.2% of the total), followed by Turkey (25.9%) and Spain (11.1%).
 
U.S. ethanol production remained unchanged in the week ended June 5th at 1.108 mbpd (-1.1% YoY), while inventories declined 0.6% to 24.452 million barrels (+3.0% YoY).
 
U.S. gasoline demand increased 1.6% last week, totaling 8.731 mbpd (-4.8% YoY).
