Probability of a Super El Niño Rises to 63% According to NOAA
● The U.S. agency has raised the probability that Pacific temperature anomalies will exceed +2.0°C from 37% to 63%.
● Projection models indicate that the peak warming is expected to occur between October and December, with anomalies ranging from +1.8°C to +2.3°C. If it exceeds +2.0°C, this will be the sixth Super El Niño event since 1950.
● Not all Super El Niño events necessarily lead to the classic impacts of the phenomenon around the world, but more intense events can significantly amplify these effects in some regions.
● DATAGRO has been publishing projections on its portal regarding climate conditions for the coming months, highlighting the intensification of El Niño in major producing regions around the world.
