Oil Hits US$ 100/bbl
● Brent crude touched US$ 100/bbl on Thursday for the first time since May, as the widening conflict involving Iran disrupted energy flows across the Middle East — a region now under pressure from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea.
● Iran’s Houthi allies in Yemen claimed strikes on two Saudi tankers in the Red Sea, effectively creating a second choke point for global shipping and opening yet another front in the conflict.
● In Brazil, the gasoline price at Petrobras refineries is now 35.6% below import parity, while diesel stands 40.1% below parity, according to DATAGRO.
● The Brazilian government has already announced plans to extend the gasoline subsidy for a further two months.
